Seminar on International Women`s Day, 8th March 2015

On the occasion of International women’s day, 8th March 2015, a seminar was organized by HRVC at Guru Ramdass Nagar at Kathuria Sewa Sadan at Laxminagar. The programme was initiated with a warm welcome for the participants .Various intellectuals discussed about Women’s protection and gave their statements on it.

In 1975, during International Women's Year   the United Nations began celebrating International Women's Day on 8 March. Two years later, in December 1977, the General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming a United Nations Day for Women's Rights and International Peace to be observed on any day of the year by Member States, in accordance with their historical and national traditions. In adopting its resolution, the General Assembly recognized the role of women in peace efforts and development and urged an end to discrimination and an increase of support for women's full and equal participation. Lots of women were present in the programme. Chairman Shri. Mukesh Pandey and others said that women should be educated and must know rights and laws for their protection. Once they know about the legal protection then they will move around without fear.

All the women present were very happy. Such seminars letting the women realized their rights in our constitution should be organized. Chief guest was Mrs. Meenakshi- Hon’ble Mayor of EDMC, Mr. Jai Gopal Verma- Dy. Mayor EDMC, Mrs. Asha Singh-Dy. Chairman of Education, Mr. Kanwar Sain- President of BJP (District Shahadra), Mrs. Neema Bhagat, President of Mahila Morcha east Delhi (BJP) were present. Chairman Mukesh Pandey has vowed to cause of women and how to make the women feel safe and have self-respect.

Mr. Mukesh Pandey further said people think that these seminars will result into nothing, people will here and once at home forgets about it. He reminds that in European countries also gradually only rights were given and in which women themselves fought for equality and won. therefore these seminars attended by many responsible people, women included hence here also gradually this fight for equality and protection should go out to people, their houses and will result in India a safe haven for women. “We should know the meaning of Women’s Empowerment, what is Women’s Empowerment? Each Woman should know her power” he added. It is to be seen and as the saying goes, Mother is the first teacher of a child will result into better India.

The slogan of the seminar was “BETI BACHAO, BETI PADHAO”, Mrs. Neema Bhagat, President of Mahila Morcha, BJP (East Delhi) said the slogan represent today’s situation in our country we should teach our daughters first not only concentrate on our sons. “My own daughter is a doctor and we support her more than the boys of our family” she added. Mr. Ravish Pathak advocate of Supreme Court & Gen. Secretary of HRVC also address the gathering by their valuable thoughts on law for the women In India. He informed the audience about their rights and how the HRVC is ready to help each of the civilian. All the guests communicated to the audience and share their views about the Women’s Empowerment. Many Media Partners like CNN, Dainik Jagran etc. were also present in the seminar to cover the programme.
